This exercise is an oppertunity to explore how sound (diagetic & non-diagetic) contributes to the impact and narrative of a scene.

1. Write a treatment for a scene (continuity edit) that includes some tension.

2. Brainstorm and write down two alternate moods for the scene (ex. spooky & romantic)

3. For each mood, brainstorm & write down at least five sounds (diagetic & non-diagetic) and           sound FX that will contribute to the mood. Mark as D (diagetic) or ND (non-diagetic)

4. Choose music (1 or 2 tracks) to further add to the mood.

5. Shoot footage and edit for continuity.

6. Add in your sound + music for moods (a) & (b) each.

7. Save as... "mood a___" & "mood b___".
